Wang Yi Emphasizes Equal AI Development for All Nations in Shanghai

Shanghai, July 19 – The Global AI Conference provided a platform for Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to meet with foreign ministers from Dominica and Lesotho, as well as Indonesia’s top economic coordinator. In each dialogue, Wang highlighted Beijing’s stance on fair access to artificial intelligence.

He told Dominica’s Winston Henderson that the Caribbean partner enjoys a solid friendship with China, marked by reciprocal respect and expanding cooperation in multiple sectors.

With Lesotho’s Limpho Tau, Wang reiterated that developing countries must not be excluded from the AI revolution, and that China’s foreign policy always defends the principle of equality among nations of all sizes.

The conversation with Indonesia’s Airlangga Hartarto focused on leveraging shared priorities of the Global South to create a collaborative future for China‑Indonesia relations, stressing the need for synchronized development plans.
