Violent Incident on National Highway Leaves Six Injured, Officer Dead
In Mastung district's Khad Kocha locality, an IED planted along the Quetta‑Karachi national highway detonated on Saturday, targeting a security convoy. The blast caused severe damage to one of the convoy's vehicles and resulted in the death of a security officer. Six other personnel were transported to the nearest hospital for treatment. Following the explosion, gunfire rang out, but the gunmen fled before police reinforcements could engage. The highway was closed temporarily while officials conducted a thorough search operation. The attack occurs shortly after the Baloch Liberation Army declared that its fighters had taken full control of Sarnan town in Pishin district, after destroying a police station and torching several government buildings.
