A tourist speed‑boat carrying 32 Indian visitors sank off the Nghe An coastline on Saturday, killing fifteen Indians and injuring many. In response, Vietnam’s authorities announced a compensation package: families of the deceased will receive US$1,000 each, while each injured passenger will be paid US$500. Local officials also said that the provincial government will provide 26 million Vietnamese dong (approximately US$1,000) to every victim’s family as additional support. Police, medical teams and investigative agencies are working around the clock to identify the victims, complete legal formalities and coordinate with diplomatic representatives for the possible return of the bodies to India.
