Veteran War Hero Mohsin Rezaei Named to Supreme National Security Council
Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, used his X account to announce that Dr. Mohsin Rezaei, a distinguished veteran of the Iran‑Iraq war, has been appointed as his representative on the Supreme National Security Council. Rezaei’s record includes leading the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from 1981 to 1997 and serving as one of the pioneering commanders of the “Holy Defense” during the eight‑year conflict. He also participates in the Expediency Discernment Council and serves as secretary of the Supreme Council for Economic Coordination. The leader’s message emphasized confidence in Rezaei’s ability to handle the critical security portfolio and extended wishes for his success. The SNSC, chaired by President Masoud Pejshakian, is the principal body for coordinating Iran’s security and diplomatic strategies.
