International aid flows as Venezuela grapples with massive earthquake aftermath

CARACAS, July 11 – Following the deadly June 24 tremor, Venezuela has received humanitarian assistance from 28 foreign nations. More than 2,000 tonnes of relief supplies have arrived at a central collection hub in the capital, where interim President Delcy Rodríguez oversaw sorting and allocation.

The inbound aid complements domestic relief measures that have so far helped 86,794 families, opened 89 temporary shelters for 17,266 people, and provided emergency medical support to the 16,740 injured.

With a death toll now at 4,118, the country continues to mobilise resources. The combined workforce of 30,076 responders, 29,843 volunteers and 3,454 international rescue units is engaged in debris removal, infrastructure repair and the reconstruction of damaged homes.

President Rodríguez expressed gratitude to all donor countries, noting that transparency in the distribution process ensures that each nation sees the impact of its contribution on the ground.
