US Violates Agreement, Iran Stops Its Part – Deputy Foreign Minister

Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s deputy foreign minister for legal and international matters, told a televised interview that Tehran has halted its duties under the peace arrangement with the United States because Washington has reneged on all its commitments.

He stressed that Iran is now focusing on safeguarding its nation and that there are no active negotiations on the table. "The United States must choose a different approach instead of aggressive moves that achieve nothing," he warned.

The U.S. Central Command announced on the social media platform X that a fresh set of airstrikes began at 18:00 local time on Saturday against Iranian targets. The strikes aim to further limit Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping lanes in the Hormuz Strait and to punish the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for its recent attack on U.S. forces in Jordan.

CENTCOM reported that two American service members were killed and one is still missing, marking the first U.S. combat death since March. Four more service members were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals but have been released, while other personnel incurred only minor wounds and have returned to duty.

President Donald Trump expressed sorrow over the casualties, calling the servicemen “heroes.” Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth posted a message on X offering prayers and stating that the sacrifice strengthens the nation’s resolve. The IRGC later claimed responsibility for the attack on the American base at Al‑Azraq, Jordan, alleging that several aircraft were completely destroyed by missile and drone attacks.
