US State Department Highlights Drone Threats Near Saudi-Yemen Frontier

In its latest travel guidance, Washington points to a surge in Iranian‑sponsored drone and missile attacks aimed at Saudi Arabia’s border zones with Yemen. The advisory notes that Houthi rebels have recently targeted airports, diplomatic missions and energy facilities, prompting heightened security alerts across Mecca, Jeddah and other provinces. American government employees are barred from traveling within 20 miles of the Yemen border.
