US Military Reports Intercepting Iranian Ballistic Missiles Over Middle East

Washington – The United States Central Command confirmed that its air‑defence teams shot down several ballistic missiles launched from Iran toward US positions in the Middle East. The missiles were reportedly aimed at a Jordanian air base used by American forces and at the CENTCOM headquarters.

In a brief message posted on X, CENTCOM said the missiles were detected early and “successfully intercepted” by Patriot and other defence systems. The statement added that US troops remain on high alert and ready to respond to any escalation.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, through its Aerospace Force, labeled the launch as a “retaliatory strike” against what it described as ongoing US aggression. The group warned that it would continue to target what it calls illegal and threatening actions by Washington.

The incident heightens the already volatile relationship between Tehran and Washington, a dynamic that has seen a series of reciprocal claims of attacks on military installations across the region.
