US‑Israel Dialogue Focuses on Iran and Regional Security After Tehran Conflict

In a high‑stakes encounter in Washington, President Donald Trump is set to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on July 28, as reported by the White House. The session, held without journalists, will concentrate on Iran’s growing influence and the broader security landscape affecting Israel and its neighbours.

The agenda, as outlined by Netanyahu before his flight, will prioritize Iran, stating that Israel’s goal is to protect its own safety while extending a zone of stability across the region. The meeting follows a similar closed‑door discussion earlier that day with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, reaffirming U.S. support for Kyiv amid the ongoing war.

After the bilateral talks, Trump will attend a memorial service at the National Cathedral honoring Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, with Netanyahu expected to be present as a sign of solidarity.

Ambassador Yechiel Littler posted on X to welcome the Israeli prime minister, calling the visit a testament to the “strength and commitment” that bind the two countries. This will be the eighth in‑person meeting between Trump and Netanyahu since the former’s latest term began, and the first since the conflict with Iran erupted.

In a separate report from Iran, the judiciary disclosed that two men sentenced for violent assaults during January protests were executed by hanging. The court’s ruling cited attacks on police officers with knives, binding them to traffic signs, dragging them, dousing them with gasoline and setting them ablaze. The executions were conducted publicly in a square in Malekshahr, Isfahan province.
