US‑India dialogue at G7 summit tempered by concerns over Trump’s actions

During the G7 summit, Prime Minister Modi praised President Trump’s efforts to de‑escalate tensions in West Asia and to keep the Strait of Hormuz open for uninterrupted commercial shipping. The leaders also reviewed progress made under the 2025 COMPACT framework, which focuses on military partnership, accelerated commerce, and technology exchange. Both sides highlighted advances in defence cooperation, strategic technology sharing, energy collaboration, and bilateral trade.
