US Central Command reaffirms open passage for lawful vessels in Hormuz

In a post on its official platform, the U.S. Central Command affirmed that the Strait of Hormuz remains open for all ships operating under legal international guidelines. The United States maintains a naval presence in the strait and is fully prepared to ensure free navigation despite Iran’s “unnecessary aggression,” threats and unilateral proclamations.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that the waterway would stay shut until the United States ceases its activities in the region. The IRGC also announced retaliatory strikes on U.S. installations located in Jordan, Qatar and Oman, saying the attacks targeted a command‑and‑control facility and a drone hangar at Jordan’s Prince Hasan Air Base after U.S. air raids on Iranian southern coastal sites.
