Ukraine bolsters missile defence amid Russian barrage

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy reported a massive Russian strike involving ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones aimed at infrastructure in Kyiv, Odesa and Chernihiv regions. The assault caused severe damage to residential towers, a children's hospital and a school, killing 13 people and injuring around 40. Zelenskiy thanked rescue teams, medical staff and utility workers for their rapid response and warned that without sufficient anti‑ballistic systems, Russia will not be deterred.
