Ukraine Calls for Expanded Sanctions on Russian Defense Suppliers

President Volodymyr Zelensky used his X account to appeal to the international community for tougher measures against Russian companies that enable the war. He noted that several manufacturers of drone components, missile guidance systems and guided bombs are still operating without sanctions.

Zelensky argued that these firms are directly feeding the Russian offensive and that the lack of restrictions allows Moscow to increase its ballistic‑weapon production. He urged partners to broaden the scope of sanctions and to apply them consistently, stressing that sustained economic pressure on every part of Russia’s defence industry will help lower the frequency of attacks on Ukrainian cities.

The president also thanked Ukrainian soldiers for extending the reach of their long‑range weapons, which have recently struck fuel depots and air bases deep inside Russian territory.
