UKMTO Issues Alert Over Unidentified Projectile Strike in Hormuz Strait

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) released a warning on Monday night after receiving a report at 2200 GMT from military officials about an unknown projectile hitting a cargo ship in the Hormuz Strait.
The alert specified that the incident occurred approximately 20 nautical miles northeast of Al‑Khasab, Oman. The vessel, identified as the Liberian‑flagged Minoan Pioneer, transmitted a VH‑F distress call reporting the strike.
UKMTO advised all ships transiting the area to exercise heightened vigilance and to report any suspicious activity to the agency immediately.
