Trump’s Coupang Share Purchases and Sales Detailed in Ethics Reports

Former President Donald Trump’s most recent financial disclosure reveals that his investment managers completed eighteen distinct trades of Coupang stock from October 2023 through May 2024. The transactions are documented in three filings made to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics between May and June.

The records list each trade as a price range. Initial buys were made on October 9, 2023, with amounts ranging from $1,001 to $15,000 and a second block of $50,001‑$100,000 the same day. Further purchases were recorded on October 16, December 11, December 18, and several dates in early 2024, including a significant $100,001‑$250,000 purchase on February 12, 2024.

Sales followed a similar pattern, with transactions on October 16, November 10, November 17, January 12, January 21, May 18 and May 22, covering the same value ranges. Analysts estimate that the former president’s exposure to the stock may have peaked around $130,000.

The filings also note that the 2025 financial report shows the trades generated either no profit or only a trivial gain for Trump in the previous year. The disclosures arrived as U.S. officials criticized South Korean regulators for their handling of a massive data‑breach investigation at Coupang.

When approached for comment, the White House did not issue an immediate response.
