Former President Donald Trump has sharply criticized President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, accusing them of endangering the nation by allowing “unchecked and unvetted” immigrants into the United States. This strong condemnation follows the tragic killing of two West Virginia National Guard members in a shooting incident near the White House, allegedly perpetrated by an Afghan national admitted into the U.S. under the current administration. Trump took to social media platform Truth Social to voice his outrage, stating, “Crooked Joe Biden, Mayorkas, and so-called ‘Border Czar’ Kamala Harris really screwed our Country by letting anyone and everyone come in totally unchecked and unvetted.” The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) echoed these concerns, calling the admission of the suspect, identified as Lakanwal, an “act of national self-sabotage.” DHS announced an immediate halt to processing immigration requests from Afghan nationals pending a thorough review of security and vetting procedures. Secretary Kristi Noem specifically held President Biden accountable, asserting that the accused’s immigration application was processed during his tenure, making him and his administration directly responsible for the death of National Guard Specialist Sarah Beckstrom. The suspect, who previously served in a special Afghan Army unit, arrived in the U.S. in 2021 as part of Operation Allies Welcome. Reports suggest he was experiencing difficulties adjusting to life in America.
