Trump Backs Netanyahu Again as Israel Heads to Polls

As Israel prepares for its parliamentary election on October 27, US President Donald Trump has renewed his endorsement of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling on Israeli voters to keep him in power.

Writing on Truth Social late on Sunday night, local time, Trump described Netanyahu as “a great warrior prime minister” and urged voters to cast their ballots for him. “Vote for Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, we have to finish the job we started,” he said.

The statement is the second such public appeal Trump has made in roughly one month. It arrives as Netanyahu enters the final phase of his campaign, a period in which he has reportedly been seeking more visible backing from the American leader.

Trump tied Netanyahu's leadership to the security policy the two countries have pursued together in the region. Referring to joint military action against Iran, he stressed the strength of US-Israeli cooperation and asserted that Iran's military and economic infrastructure had been significantly damaged.

This is not the first time Trump has spoken in support of the Israeli leader. On October 18, he called Netanyahu an essential partner in confronting Iran and openly endorsed his return as prime minister. He had argued at the time that without Netanyahu, the United States might have to handle the campaign against Iran by itself.

Trump also lauded Netanyahu's perseverance under pressure, suggesting that the Israeli leader had emerged stronger from difficult moments. “I fully support him and believe Bibi Netanyahu will never let you down!” the US president wrote in that earlier post.

The repeated endorsements highlight how closely Trump's Middle East agenda is linked to the outcome of Israel's election.
