Trump Administration Steps Up Pressure on Tehran with New Financial Blitz

The United States has launched what officials call the largest coordinated financial offensive against Iran since the 1970s. Treasury Secretary Scott Beseant detailed a suite of sanctions targeting oil exports, shipping, and Iranian-owned enterprises abroad.

According to the Treasury, any party that maintains ties with Tehran will be subject to secondary sanctions, effectively cutting them off from the U.S. financial system.

President Trump framed the initiative as a historic moment, stating that the U.S. is no longer willing to tolerate a regime that threatens regional stability. The campaign is being rolled out in partnership with key allies.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took to social media to commend the United States, saying the sanctions will impose a “heavy price” on those who help sustain Iran’s aggressive policies.
