Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has described the latest filings as the most coordinated effort in the history of the Justice Department to cancel U.S. citizenships. The move is part of former President Donald Trump’s broader immigration agenda that prioritises the removal of illegal entrants and convicted criminals. Since the start of his second term on January 20, 2025, the department has initiated 123 civil cases seeking denaturalization, the highest count on record.
