Treasury and Homeland Security Lead Collaboration on Gold Eagle

Treasury Secretary Scott Basant and Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas jointly presented the Gold Eagle cyber‑defense platform, underscoring the inter‑agency cooperation that makes the effort possible. The clearinghouse draws on existing statutory authorities of the Treasury, the Department of Homeland Security, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the Department of Defense, while also integrating insights from private‑sector innovators.

During the briefing, Basant said the Treasury is committed to protecting financial institutions by using advanced AI to anticipate and neutralize cyber threats before they can cause damage. Mayorkas added that the collaboration will strengthen software and network defenses across the public and private sectors, while also accelerating AI research and development.

Both officials emphasized that Gold Eagle will not only identify vulnerabilities but also provide a clear prioritization framework, enabling faster decision‑making and coordinated response. The platform will serve as a real‑time hub for threat intelligence, feeding data to security teams that protect critical infrastructure, from power grids to banking systems.

The partnership reflects the broader strategy outlined in President Trump’s June 2 executive order on AI innovation, which calls for leveraging artificial intelligence to secure the nation’s digital assets.
