Tourism Board Reports 88,000 Foreign Guests in September, Up From 78,000

Kathmandu, Oct 2 — According to the Nepal Tourism Board, September welcomed 88,248 foreign tourists, a jump of more than 12 percent from the 78,711 recorded last year. Visitors arrived from 88,248 passports, with India leading the list at 17,425 arrivals, a 12 percent rise. China followed with 11,212 tourists, showing a remarkable 114.1 percent surge. The United States contributed 8,299 visitors, while Sri Lanka and Australia added 7,108 and 4,842 respectively. South Asian nations accounted for 34.09 percent of all international arrivals.
