Three Indian Nationals Rescued from Black Sea Ship Now Departing Romania

The Indian Embassy reported that three Indian citizens—Sahil Sandhu, Ashwini Kumar and Herman Singh—have embarked on a flight from Romania to India after being rescued from a commercial vessel attacked in the Black Sea. The embassy facilitated all necessary paperwork and coordination with Romanian authorities, hospitals, and rescue teams to ensure a smooth departure. The three were saved on October 6 and received medical attention before being cleared for travel. The diplomatic staff expressed gratitude for the prompt assistance provided by Romanian officials and highlighted India’s call for dialogue and diplomatic measures to de‑escalate tensions in the region.
