Third Visit By Canadian FM Signals Growing Momentum in Bilateral Dialogue
Anita Anand’s two‑day diplomatic tour of India marked her third official visit since mid‑2025, a signal that the dialogue between Ottawa and New Delhi is gaining steady traction. While in the capital, Anand praised the tangible achievements made in trade, energy, innovation and security sectors.
She highlighted that the groundwork laid during a meeting with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar a year earlier has now borne fruit, with concrete steps being taken to implement the agreed roadmap. The minister stressed that the partnership’s importance is measured by shared outcomes, especially as global power structures undergo major shifts.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the itinerary includes further consultations aimed at solidifying existing agreements and identifying new collaborative opportunities. Anand’s remarks framed the growing Canada‑India relationship as a cornerstone for a free, prosperous Indo‑Pacific future.
