Tehran Stands Firm: No US Dialogue Until Core Conditions Satisfied

The statement was aimed at President Donald Trump’s recent claim that Iran seeks a "quick and costly" agreement and that the United States is ready to negotiate. Rezaei warned that contradictory U.S. messages – alternating between “no talks” and “we are ready” – only create confusion. He highlighted that the earlier agreement signed on June 18, which required both nations to negotiate within a 60‑day window, ended on August 17 without a final pact. The situation is further complicated by a recent drone strike on two Iranian fishing boats near the southern coast and a reported explosion involving a super‑oil tanker attempting to cross a restricted waterway.
