Iran’s top military spokesperson, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, declared that the country's sovereignty over the Hormuz Strait will not be swayed by any international statements. He outlined that the IRGC Navy dominates the western side and the Persian Gulf, while the regular navy is responsible for the eastern corridor and the northern Indian Ocean approaches. Sayyari’s comments follow Iran’s recent offer to reopen the strait within a week if U.S. pressure eases and sanctions on its ports are lifted, an offer that the United States has so far rejected.
