Tamil Nadu Delegation Visits India’s Foreign Ministry Over Missing Indian Citizens in Nepal

In a coordinated response to the Bote Koshi disaster, Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay ordered an IAS‑led team to travel to Kathmandu. Before departure, the team, headed by Home Commissioner Ashish Kumar, met with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and reviewed the ongoing humanitarian operations. The meeting underscored the critical need to locate about 290 Indian citizens who lost contact after the flood, and detailed the rescue of 63 Indian staff from the Trishuli‑I project and 21 pilgrims from a Kailash expedition. Both sides pledged continued cooperation with Nepal’s authorities to accelerate relief.
