Taliban Spokesperson Blames Pakistan for Disrupting Peace Talks
Jabihullah Mujahid, the official spokesperson for the Taliban, took to social media this week to accuse Pakistani authorities of sabotaging ongoing dialogue between Afghanistan and its neighbors. He described Islamabad’s senior officials as more interested in propaganda than in seeking genuine solutions to the bilateral issues.
Mujahid labeled the Pakistani policy as a "failed strategy" that hampers not only diplomatic talks but also exacerbates the country’s own political, security, social, and economic crises. He emphasized that blaming Afghanistan for Pakistan’s internal problems would not resolve any of the underlying challenges.
The spokesperson’s remarks echoed earlier accusations from Kabul that Pakistan continues to provide safe haven to extremist groups, a claim that the Afghan government believes directly fuels instability along the shared border.
Mujahid concluded that any sustainable peace must involve a realistic appraisal of Pakistan’s actions and a cessation of interference in Afghanistan’s internal affairs.
