Taiwan Simulates Crisis Response as China Threat Looms

Taiwan has long warned that a mainland Chinese "decapitation strike" could target its political and military leadership. This year’s Han Kuang scenario placed particular emphasis on securing the leadership’s movement and establishing alternative command pathways.

The ten‑day drill involves more than 20,000 reservists practising the relocation of weapon stockpiles, civilian administration continuity, and defensive actions against simulated Chinese aggression and cyber disruption.
