Swiss President to Attend Prosperity Summit Marking TEPA Anniversary

New Delhi, 5 Oct – Swiss President Alain Berset will join the Prosperity Summit scheduled for October 7, marking the first anniversary of the India‑EFTA TEPA implementation. The summit will convene senior officials from the six partner economies to review the progress made under the agreement and to explore new avenues for collaboration.

According to Secretary Sibi George, the President’s participation underscores Switzerland’s commitment to the TEPA framework, especially in sectors such as economic affairs, education, research and innovation. The President personally contributed to the finalisation of the TEPA negotiations as the Federal Councilor for Economic Affairs.

The Prosperity Summit is expected to provide a high‑level platform for dialogue on trade liberalisation, investment incentives, and sector‑specific cooperation, thereby strengthening the overall partnership.
