Strategic Sectors and Multilateral Platforms Highlighted in Delhi Talks

In a bilateral meeting held in the Indian capital, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Brazil’s Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira mapped out cooperation across key strategic sectors. They identified opportunities to expand trade in high‑tech goods, bolster defence collaboration, and pursue joint ventures in clean energy and space exploration.

The dialogue further touched upon the importance of coordinated action in multilateral institutions. Both ministers pledged to align their stances at the United Nations, the Group of Twenty, and the International Maritime Organization, aiming to push forward agendas that benefit developing nations.

The officials also deliberated on the geopolitical shifts shaping the world order and examined how the upcoming BRICS 2026 summit could serve as a catalyst for renewed diplomatic engagement.

Mauro Vieira’s visit coincides with the opening of the 18th BRICS summit, where leaders from member and invited countries will converge to discuss economic cooperation, security challenges and sustainable development.
