Strategic partnership milestones celebrated during Modi’s fourth Uzbekistan trip

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Tashkent International Airport on Saturday, marking his fourth official trip to Uzbekistan. Welcomed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and a large gathering of the Indian diaspora, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the heartfelt chants of "Modi Modi" and "Vande Mataram" that echoed through the terminal.

The diplomatic agenda included a formal reception ceremony, a joint press briefing, and the aforementioned strategic‑partnership dialogue. Modi reiterated India’s commitment to support Uzbekistan’s development goals, especially in renewable energy, digital infrastructure and youth empowerment.

A notable cultural highlight was a yoga demonstration organized by the Yoga Federation of Uzbekistan, showcasing participants who had previously represented the country at the World Yoga Championships in Ahmedabad in June 2026. The Prime Minister posted photos of the event on X, noting, "Uzbekistan’s love for yoga bridges our cultures and strengthens our friendship."

Both leaders affirmed that the upgraded partnership will be guided by clearly defined objectives, with a focus on trade diversification, defense cooperation, and enhanced connectivity across Central Asia.
