Strategic Partnership Highlighted as China Delivers Emergency Kits to Caracas

China's first humanitarian aid wave arrived at Caracas' Simón Bolívar Airport on July 6, marking a tangible demonstration of the strategic alliance between the two governments. The convoy, exceeding 80 tonnes, comprised power generators, water purification trucks, sanitation equipment, solar lamps, extensive tent supplies and a massive stock of blankets.

Iván Gil and Ambassador Lan Hu oversaw the handover, noting that Chinese technicians and volunteers have been actively involved in the rescue effort since the first tremor struck the nation.

The assistance is presented as a cornerstone of a long‑term partnership, offering essential resources to the thousands rendered homeless by a series of powerful earthquakes that have generated more than a thousand aftershocks since June 24.

Official figures record 3,535 fatalities, 16,740 injured and 17,854 people left without shelter, emphasizing the urgent need for continued international support.
