Lucknow, October 31: Reacting sharply to a viral video, the Samajwadi Party has said that no one has the right to make derogatory comments about the faith of millions of Sanatan Dharma followers. Party spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chand described the remarks made by an Israeli religious leader as deeply objectionable.

According to Chand, the Samajwadi Party holds that every individual's religious beliefs deserve respect. He said that making sarcastic remarks and comments about the religious sentiments of the crores of Sanatan followers in India is condemnable.

Chand maintained that no one should hurt anyone's religious faith through comments. He said that if people do not interfere in your rituals and traditions, you cannot have the right to comment on their religious practices. In his view, the remarks made by the Israeli religious leader were unnecessary.

The matter came to light after a video of Rabbi Yossi Mizrahi, a US-based rabbi of Israeli descent, surfaced online. In it, he made fun of the Hindu tradition of worshipping cows, claimed that people in India drink cow urine, and said that some Indian doctors also do this. He additionally mocked cows resting on Delhi's roads, which he said caused traffic to stop.
