Heat Wave Fuels Wildfires Across Southern Europe

Record‑high temperatures across southern Europe have dried vegetation, increasing the risk of wildfires. In Spain, the Catalonia fire has burned 2,300 hectares, while France battles several forest fires along its Mediterranean coast. Over 1,900 firefighters and numerous aerial assets are engaged, and Spain’s military continues to provide additional personnel and vehicles to support the effort.
