South Korean Military Confirms Missile Travelled Approximately 300 Kilometres

According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a missile launched from Pyongyang on Thursday reached an estimated distance of 300 kilometres before descending into the East Sea.

The launch was first reported as an unidentified projectile, but subsequent analysis identified it as a ballistic missile. The precise range and trajectory remain under investigation by both South Korean and Japanese authorities.

The timing of the launch coincides with ongoing joint exercises between the United States and South Korea, which North Korea labels as a direct threat to its sovereignty. The regime has repeatedly warned that such drills constitute preparation for war.

In a statement, Kim Yo‑jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong‑un, emphasized that scaling back the exercises would not alter Pyongyang's stance, and expressed no interest in the United States' actions.
