Sindh's Christian Family Law Bill 2026 Raises Concerns Over Rights

In Sindh, Deputy Speaker Anthony Naveed introduced a broader private member’s bill titled the Christian Family Laws Bill 2026. The draft addresses divorce, judicial separation, maintenance, remarriage, child custody and the division of family assets.

Supporters say the bill fills a gap in existing law, but the report cautions that it ventures into sensitive theological territory. It stresses that any reforms related to marriage, divorce or remarriage must respect Christian doctrinal principles and be shaped with input from the faith community.
