Shi Qinfen Oversees Promotions to General Rank at Beijing Event

Beijing’s central military headquarters hosted a promotion ceremony on July 3, 2024, where Chairman Shi Qinfen formally elevated several senior officers to the rank of general. The program started at 10:30 a.m. with the national anthem played in a reverent manner.

Vice‑Chairman Zhang Shengmin chaired the ceremony, presenting the order signed by Chairman Shi that listed the officers to be promoted. Among those named were Zhang Shuqiang, the secretary of the CMC Discipline Inspection Commission, and Air Force commander Wang Kang, both awarded the general’s insignia.

After the official reading, the newly promoted generals saluted Chairman Shi and the audience, prompting a strong applause response. The ceremony concluded with the PLA’s military hymn, and the day ended with a group photo of Chairman Shi, other CMC leaders, and the newly promoted generals.
