Saudi Foreign Minister Discusses Regional Crisis with Iran

Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister Faisal bin Farhan engaged in a telephone conversation with Iran’s foreign minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Sunday night. The two officials exchanged views on the escalating regional tensions, particularly the fighting between Saudi‑backed forces and Yemen’s Houthi rebels. Araghchi warned that a military‑first approach would not resolve the underlying disputes and offered Iran’s help in arranging talks among Tehran, Riyadh and Sana’a. Both sides noted the recent interception of a Houthi drone and ballistic missile, which the Saudi‑led coalition said it successfully destroyed.
