Rwanda’s Liberation Day celebrated in Delhi as defence partnership grows

On Monday, a Rwandan delegation visited the National War Memorial in New Delhi to pay tribute to fallen soldiers before the JDCC session. The ceremony was attended by senior Indian officials, including State Minister Pabitra Margaret, who also took part in Rwanda’s 32nd Liberation Day celebrations.

State Minister Margaret congratulated Rwanda on three decades of social and economic progress and expressed confidence in the growing bilateral defence relationship. Rwanda’s High Commissioner Jacqueline Mukangira addressed the event, thanking the Indian minister for her presence, which she said added special significance to the occasion.

The joint defence cooperation agreement and the Liberation Day celebrations underscored the deepening ties between the two countries.
