Russian Deputy Trade Envoy Links Leader‑Level Bond to Strengthened India‑Russia Partnership

In remarks delivered at Mumbai’s Global Impact Forum 2, Deputy Trade Envoy Alexander Fursov pointed out that the cordial personal relationship between President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi serves as a strategic asset for both nations. He argued that the goodwill generated at the top echelons often trickles down, accelerating agreements on sectors such as nuclear energy, maritime security and digital innovation.

The forum’s agenda featured extensive dialogues on cultural legacy, soft‑power initiatives and collaborative opportunities among the BRICS countries. More than 500 participants engaged in workshops on traditional health systems, performing arts, cinema and indigenous practices.

A highlight of the event was an exhibition dedicated to St. Petersburg’s historical and cultural narrative, designed to attract Indian tourists. Fursov described the showcase as illustrating the city’s architecture, literary heritage, tenacity and global outlook, positioning St. Petersburg as an emerging destination for Indian travelers.
