Russian Defence Ministry Reports Heavy Ukrainian Losses

Moscow, November 1: The Russian Defence Ministry has reported that Ukraine lost around 1,175 soldiers in the special military operation zone over the last 24 hours. The announcement also claimed that Russian air defence systems destroyed 391 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones.

The ministry said Russian forces carried out strikes on Ukrainian transport and energy infrastructure. Drone storage and launch sites were reportedly among the targets as well.

According to the ministry, the 'North' battle group killed about 190 Ukrainian troops. The 'West' battle group eliminated approximately 200, and the 'South' group accounted for over 210. The 'Centre' group was said to have killed around 350, the 'East' group about 205, and the 'Dnepr' group roughly 20.

In its statement, the ministry described strikes on energy and transport facilities used by the Ukrainian armed forces. It also cited attacks on drone assembly workshops, drone storage and launch areas, ammunition stockpiles, and temporary positions occupied by Ukrainian soldiers and foreign fighters.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of intentionally targeting the country's energy installations. He said Russian forces hit energy systems in Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr and Khmelnytskyi late on Saturday.

Zelensky further noted that Russia continues to launch major attacks on other key infrastructure. Over the past week, he said, Russia used 1,940 attack drones, more than 1,580 guided aerial bombs and 44 missiles, of which 36 were ballistic missiles.

The reported figures have not been independently verified.
