A significant development in India’s defense sector has emerged with Russia proposing the supply and local manufacturing of Su-57 fighter jets. This information comes from the TASS news agency. Additionally, it is reported that India could receive five S-400 “Triumf” surface-to-air missile systems by the year 2026. Dmitry Shugayev, head of Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, stated that while India already possesses the S-400 system, there’s potential for further collaboration, including new deliveries. Negotiations are currently underway. India had previously secured a $5.5 billion deal in 2018 for five S-400 systems. The remaining two units are slated for delivery in 2026 and 2027. These systems are intended to bolster India’s air defense capabilities against potential threats.
