Romania Visit Completes Murmu’s July Diplomatic Circuit

President Murmu will conclude her European tour with a three‑day visit to Romania from July 23 to 25, 2026, after invitations from President Klaus Iohannis. It will be the first state visit by an Indian president to Romania in more than three decades. Scheduled engagements include meetings with President Iohannis, interim Prime Minister Cătălin Preda, Senate President Alina Gorghiu, and Chamber of Deputies President Marcel Ciolacu, as well as discussions with the Romania‑India Parliamentary Friendship Group. Murmu will address the India‑Romania Business Forum and interact with the Indian community. The trip underscores Romania’s strategic partnership within the EU and anticipates a boost in trade following the India‑EU Free Trade Agreement.
