The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Cabelli, issued a statement on the social platform X after a helicopter crashed near the Tijuca National Park, close to the Vista China area. He extended his sympathy to the families of the four victims – a pilot and three Colombian women – and said the municipal government has contacted the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to demand immediate action. Cabelli urged ANAC to increase monitoring and enforce stronger safety measures for the growing number of helicopter flights operating over the city. This call comes after two mid‑June collisions that left six people dead, highlighting mounting concerns over aerial traffic safety in Rio.
