Rescue Operations Continue as Floodwaters Disrupt Transport in Punjab

Emergency services have been deployed across Punjab to evacuate residents from flooded neighborhoods and provide medical assistance to the injured. Rescue 1122 teams used boats and high‑water vehicles to reach isolated houses, especially in the outskirts of Gujranwala where water rose above ground level. Road closures persisted on the Pakistan‑Afghanistan Highway and several local routes, with nine sections submerged. Volunteers and government workers worked through the night, clearing debris and distributing relief supplies to families whose homes were damaged by collapsing walls and roofs.
