Rapid air bridge: IAF sends additional C-130J and C-17 cargo to Nepal after devastating floods

In a swift escalation of its disaster‑relief campaign, the Indian Air Force has deployed both a C-130J and a C-17 Globemaster to the flood‑ravaged regions of Nepal. The C-130J, leaving New Delhi on Friday evening, carries a fresh consignment of foodstuffs, lifesaving medicines and emergency kits. The earlier C-17 mission, which arrived on August 27, brought a massive 37.5‑tonne payload of relief goods. Together, these air bridges underscore India’s commitment to provide rapid, precise assistance from sky to ground, while helicopter units stand by for search‑and‑rescue operations and to move vulnerable populations to secure shelters.
