Qatar Calls for End to Military Aggression After Iranian Airstrikes

Doha – Following a wave of Iranian air attacks targeting 140 locations throughout the Gulf, Qatar’s Ministry of Transport appealed to the maritime community to suspend all navigation and sea‑based activities.

The suspension includes pleasure yachts, fishing fleets and jet‑ski operations, aiming to protect civilian lives amid the escalating conflict.

Qatar’s foreign ministry labeled the attacks as an “open violation of sovereignty” and an “evident breach of international law”, stressing that Iran bears full legal responsibility for the consequences.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations warned that the security situation in the Hormuz Strait is at its highest level, categorising the threat as “serious”. It also confirmed that the southern route remains operational for bilateral traffic despite Iranian claims of closure.
