Punjab News: Former Congress minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot sent to jail in money laundering case

Mohali. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) again produced former minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, accused in the money laundering case, in Mohali court on Monday after his two-day police remand was over. The case was heard in the special court of ED.

During this time, ED had again sought police remand of Sadhu Singh Dharamsot in the court, but on this the former minister’s lawyer told the court that ED had already taken remand of Sadhu Singh Dharamsot twice. The lawyer said that first he was taken on police remand for three days and after this the remand was extended by two days. He has answered all the questions in the ED’s interrogation and now there is nothing left for interrogation in this case, hence there is no scope for further remand.

Dharamsot has been a five-time MLA and was also arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau last year in an alleged case of possessing disproportionate assets. He has represented Nabha assembly seat, while Giljian has been the MLA from Urmar seat in Hoshiarpur district.
