Vishal Agarwal, the father of the minor boy accused in the Pune Porsche case, has been sent to 2-day police custody. As per the order of the Pune Sessions Court, he will remain in police custody till May 24. During this time, he will be questioned. He was arrested from Aurangabad on Tuesday. Vishal had tried his best to dodge the police before his arrest. He had hatched this conspiracy only after an FIR was registered against him. But the police caught him on the basis of CCTV footage, GPS and inputs received from his relatives.
Vishal Agarwal fled from Pune after an FIR was filed against him. To dodge the police, 3 cars left from his house. He himself was driving one car, the remaining 2 cars were being driven by his drivers. He left for Mumbai in his car, while one driver left for Goa and the other for Kolhapur. After this, he switched off his mobile. He got in touch with the family through another number.
He also changed his car on the way. He left for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in his friend’s car. He also went to his farm house in Daund. In between, he kept informing his family about his location. On Monday night, he stayed in a lodge in Sambhajinagar with his driver. Meanwhile, the Crime Branch was after him. His location was traced through GPS. His footage was found in CCTV, which helped in identifying him.
Chhatrapati was arrested on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday from the lodge in Sambhajinagar, where he was staying. He will be produced in the Pune district court. The police on Monday sought permission from the High Court to prosecute the minor accused as an adult accused. The court had rejected the police’s appeal. The police have formed several teams to investigate this incident.
Minor crushed 2 engineers with sports car Porsche
This incident of hit and run happened on the morning of 19th May. In Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area, the 17-year-old son of real estate developer Vishal Aggarwal had crushed two bike-riding engineers with his sports car Porsche, killing both of them. The accused minor got bail from the court after 14 hours with some conditions. The court had directed him to work with the traffic police for 15 days and write an essay of 300 words on the effects and solutions of road accidents. Police investigation revealed that the accused was driving the car at very high speed under the influence of alcohol.
Pune Police Commissioner said that the minor accused in this case should be tried like an adult. For this the police has sought permission from the higher court. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 304A (causing death by negligence) of the IPS and sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
