Prince Alois Arrives for Four-Day Visit, Key Meetings Lined Up
A high-level delegation from Liechtenstein is set to visit India, with Hereditary Prince Alois and Hereditary Princess Sophie arriving on Sunday night for a four-day state visit. The trip runs from October 25 to October 28.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Prince will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, along with other senior Indian leaders.
The itinerary begins in Mumbai, where the Prince lands on Sunday night. He will head to Vadodara on Monday, October 26, and then travel to Delhi, arriving at Palam Air Force Station that evening.
On Tuesday, a ceremonial welcome will be organised at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Following this, Prince Alois will meet Jaishankar and offer floral tribute at Rajghat to Mahatma Gandhi. His meeting with Modi at Hyderabad House is also scheduled for that day.
He is also expected to meet Sitharaman and Minister of State Jayant Chaudhary, and later in the evening will call on President at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The Prince and Princess Sophie will leave India on October 28.
The visit is expected to give fresh momentum to India and Liechtenstein's bilateral relationship. Liechtenstein, which is recognised for its strength in industry, manufacturing and financial services, sees potential in deeper economic cooperation with India.
The MEA had confirmed the visit in a statement issued on Saturday. This is the Prince's second visit this year, after his attendance at the 'AI Impact Summit' in February 2026. He had earlier travelled to India in 2010 and 2018.
Liechtenstein is a small but prosperous European country, lying between Switzerland and Austria.
